Avio focuses on the development of new materials and processes for the creation of propulsion system components and structures. We have developed a family of pre-impregnated carbon-epoxy composites for large structures of transport systems and patented a number of architectures of high-performance combustion chamber components to be produced using ALM (Additive Layer Manufacturing).

A more flexible Vega C
Vega C Light
Avio is developing a new version of Vega C, called Vega C Light. This rocket will be equipped with three stages, all coming from Vega C: Zefiro 40, Zefiro 9 and Avum+. The Light version will allow Avio to compete in the market segment of launchers dedicated to payloads weighing few hundreds of kilograms or even less. Moreover, the rocket will increase the European launch flexibility and responsiveness for small payloads.

SABCA is one of the main aerospace companies in Belgium. SABCA partners with Avio for the complete Thrust Vectoring Control Systems (TVC) of launchers, including actuators and associated electronic local control loop.
Telespazio, supports Vega launches from the Kourou Space Center by providing weather, radar, telemetry and control services. Telespazio, supplies also elements of the flight software of the Vega launcher and elements of the control bench software.
