UNOOSA and Avio select a team fron University in Nairobi for CubeSat launch opportunity using the Vega C launcher

Vienna, 10 February 2023 – The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and Avio have selected a consortium led by the University of Nairobi in Kenya, joined by the University of Arizona from the United States of America and a non-profit organization Space Trust as the first awardee of the “Accessing space with Vega C” programme.

Record budget for Italy at ESA Ministerial Council more than €700M of new contracts expected starting from 2023

Rome, 28 November 2022 – The Ministerial Council of ESA Member States took place in Paris on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 November, allocating budgets for space research and development programs for the three-year period 2023-2025.


Overall, the European space budget rose 17 percent over the previous three-year period to €16.9 bn, the largest in ESA's history.

NEW P120C SOLID ROCKET MOTOR: FIRST BOOSTER CASE SUCCESSFULLY TESTED

At the eve of the International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget (Paris, France), the operational tests for the first P120C casing were successfully completed at the Avio facility in Colleferro. The P120C is the largest monolithic carbon-fibre   solid propellant motor in the world, designed to equip on the new Vega C and Ariane 6 launchers, set for their first launch in 2019 and 2020.
