First full scale M10 engine thrust chamber test firing successfully completed

m10 test

Hot firing of the first full scale thrust chamber of the M10 engine for the future LOX-CH4 third stage of Vega E, took place at Nasa Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville. The chamber is developed in the frame of ESA space transportation program with an innovative Additive Layer Manufacturing #technology allowing time and cost optimization.

The campaign aims to verify: the functional performance of the engine in its operational and qualification domain; its life under repetitive hot cycles; the validation of the models used for its design.

Avio thanks NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and European Space Agency - ESA for the technical support and cooperation during testing campaign.
