Avio is also partner of the German company OHB, which develops and produces satellites, for the supply of propulsion system, and is a client of OHB’s subsidiaries, MT-Aerospace e CGS, for the supply of components of the Ariane 5 launcher.

Avio partners with ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana) in activities of technological development and innovation regarding the solid, liquid and hybrid space propulsion. ASI takes part in the joint venture Spacelab (70 % Avio, 30% ASI)

Avio partners with the European Space Agency (ESA) in the space sector by participating in developing programs of the European launchers, from the historical, reliable family of Ariane heavy lift launchers to the Vega rocket, and by studying new technologies for the space propulsion.

Avio owns the 3.38% of Arianespace. The company is the Launch Service Provider appointed by ESA, in charge of marketing of Ariane and Vega launches. The partnership with Ariane Group was born from historical partnerships through the companies Regulus (60% Avio- 40% Ariane Group) and Europropulsion (50% Avio-50% Ariane Group) for the Ariane 5 program and to cooperate in the construction of the first stage of the Vega rocket.
