The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and Avio S.p.A. (Avio) join forces at the 74th UN General Assembly to announce an agreement to cooperate on providing institutions from UN Member States, in particular developing countries, with the opportunity to apply to use, free of charge, satellite slots for 1UCubesat or aggregates on a planned launch vehicle scheduled for October 2020.

Contract signed for the financing of additional euro 10 million with the European Investment Bank (EIB)

Rome, 16 January 2019 – Avio S.p.A., Italian company leader in the space propulsion sector, informs that today it has signed the contract for the financing of additional Euro 10 Million with the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Such financing adds up to the first Euro 40 Million loan issued by the EIB to Avio S.p.A. in October 2017, with the same economic conditions.

THE NEW LAUNCHER HAS A LIQUID OXYGEN/METHANE ENGINE WITH A LOW IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT. THE SPACE RIDER CAN RETURN TO EARTH AT THE END OF ITS MISSION AND BE REUSED.

Colleferro 30th November 2017 – Today, Avio signed two contracts with ESA, the European Space Agency, in Paris to develop the Vega E launcher and the Space Rider re-entry vehicle, in line with market expectations. The contracts are worth a total of €89.7 million.

Contract Signed for the Financing of Euro 40 Million with the European Investment Bank (EIB)

Rome, 6 October 2017 – Avio S.p.A. informs that today it has signed with the European Investment Bank (EIB) the contract for the financing of Euro 40 Million.

Leveraging the above indicated financing, Avio S.p.A. intends to support the development of new products and technologies related to space propulsion systems through Research and Development activities as well as the modernization and the expansion of the production capacity at the facilities in Colleferro (Rome), the main Avio S.p.A. industrial site in Italy.

Vega and Vega C Agreement

As regards some news published today on the media concerning an alleged  agreement signed by Avio on the Vega and Vega C launchers, Avio SPA underlines that such contracts were signed by Arianespace with OHB Italia and Airbus Defence & Space to provide them with the launch service.
