Partners and Customers

Avio partners with the European Space Agency (ESA) in the space sector by participating in developing programs of the European launchers, from the historical, reliable family of Ariane launchers to the new Vega launcher, and by studying new technologies for the space propulsion.

Avio partners with ASI (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana) in activities of technological development and innovation linked to the solid, liquid and hybrid Space propulsion. ASI takes part in the joint venture Spacelab (70 % Avio, 30% ASI)

Avio owns the 3,38 per cent of Arianespace. The company is the only one appointed by ESA for marketing of Ariane and Vega, the launchers developed and produced in Europe. Avio partners for the realization of the propulsion system of both launchers, and through ELV, is the Prime Contractor of Vega

The partnership with Ariane  Group was born from historical partnerships through the companies Regulus (60% Avio- 40% Ariane Group) and Europropulsion (50% Avio-50% Ariane Group) for the Ariane 5 program to cooperation in the construction of the first stage of the Vega launcher.

Avio partners with the German company OHB, which develops and produces satellite platforms, for the supply of propulsion system, and is a client of OHB’s subsidiaries, MT-Aerospace e CGS, for the supply of components of the Ariane 5 launcher.

Avio partners with Vitrociset as prime contractor for the entire land segment of the Guiana Space center dedicated to the Vega launcher, in particular for the activities on the control bench.

Avio partners with Telespazio, the company that supports Vega launches from the Kourou Space Center by providing weather, radar, telemetry and control services for the Vega launches. Telespazio, supplies also elements of the flight software of the Vega launcher and elements of the control bench software.

CIRA is a company with public and private sector shareholders such as research bodies, local government and aeronautics and space industries. Avio is one of these society and partners with CIRA for the activities of research linked to the Space propulsion.

SABCA is one of the main aerospace companies in Belgium. SABCA partners with Avio for the complete Thrust Vectoring Control Systems (TVC) of launchers, including actuators and associated electronic local control loop.

Avio partners with RUAG Space for the development and the supply of Fairings and of other components of the Vega launcher like the OBC (on board computer)

Yuzhnoye SDO supplies to Avio the engine of the forth stage of the Vega launcher and cooperates in activities of research and development.

GKN Space Sweden partners with Avio for the development and the supply of the turbines and the turbopumps of Avio.
